Tourist eVisa: investigate the advance route if eligible

The Visit Saudi passport-based list includes the UK, Canada, the US and many European countries. Moroccan, Tunisian and Algerian passports are not on the list checked on 3 September 2026. That does not mean every holder is excluded from every electronic route: specified third-country visas or permanent residence may provide a separate basis under official rules.

Visit Saudi’s terms allow the tourist eVisa for Umrah, excluding Hajj, and require six months of passport validity from entry, the same passport on arrival and a visa copy at the first arrival. Its standard description is one-year validity and multiple entries unless the document says otherwise, with a limited stay—not a year in the country.

Review every field before submitting. The terms exclude cancellation and refunds after submission and make clear that payment does not guarantee approval, nor does a visa guarantee admission. An advance application reduces one uncertainty; it does not remove all travel conditions.

Dedicated Umrah visa: check the actual product and package

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides a dedicated Umrah visa service for applicants outside Saudi Arabia. Use KSA Visa, Nusuk or an authorised provider as directed for your profile, and confirm availability rather than assuming one process is identical for every nationality.

For the multiple-entry product announced on 20 July 2026, the Pilgrim Experience Program states 365-day validity and up to 90 days cumulatively. It requires an approved service package and a permit before each arrival, with deactivation on departure and reactivation under the applicable conditions for another visit. Seasonal restrictions also apply.

Visa on arrival: three separate decisions

First establish eligibility under the current Saudi rules. Next have the carrier check the exact documents and route before boarding. Finally, the border authority decides admission and the issued conditions. A story from another traveller cannot replace any of these stages.

Residence is not citizenship, and temporary residence is not automatically permanent. A qualifying third-country visa can have category and prior-use conditions. Check the official tool and ask which evidence is accepted, including for electronic records.

Choose in a clear order

Check the passport, then any separate status-based eligibility, then the official application route. Confirm seasonal permissions and the complete itinerary before making expensive non-refundable commitments. Where no arrival route is clearly established, seek an appropriate visa before departure.

Review health preparation, insurance, accommodation, tickets and return-entry documents with the document checklist. For UK, European, Canadian and US residents, use the actual nationality and legal status rather than the home address as the eligibility answer.

Compare the total risk and cost of the trip, not only the visa fee. An apparently cheaper arrival option can become costly if it causes missed flights or unusable bookings. Check the current official instructions again close to departure, especially for travel near Hajj.
