Jeddah airport to Jarwal

The Northwest BUS timetable covering 1 July–29 September 2026 shows route NW28 connecting:

1. Jeddah Airport North Terminal.

3. Makkah Bus Station (Jarwal).

Read the correct direction and the row for your own terminal. A time in Jarwal’s arrival row is not a Jeddah departure. Download the relevant current timetable and retain your booking offline; do not apply this seasonal document indefinitely.

If your flight arrives at the Hajj and Umrah complex, ask the airport desk how to reach the stop specified on your ticket. Do not assume the coach boards outside your arrival door. Haramain’s airport railway station, by contrast, is connected to Terminal 1.

Jarwal is an arrival station, not the Kaaba entrance

Jarwal is a Makkah bus station serving the central area, but many hotels still require another journey. Save the hotel’s Arabic address, the route from Jarwal, any suitable local bus connection and a taxi fallback before arrival.

Do not automatically walk with large suitcases. Heat, crowds, pavement conditions and the actual route can make a short map distance difficult. Ask whether the hotel offers station pickup, where it meets passengers and whether it requires advance booking.

Makkah Bus for local journeys

The regular-route fare table lists routes 1–12. Checked on 2 September 2026, it shows SAR 4 for a single trip and SAR 15 for a digital four-trip ticket valid for one day. Confirm the current ticket conditions before buying.

Regular-route tickets are not valid on the separately priced shuttle routes. Nor should ordinary city buses be confused with seasonal pilgrim transport or services for the Hajj sites.

Use the official app to locate the stop in the correct direction. Divided roads may mean the return stop is not directly opposite. Photograph the stop sign and save the route number rather than relying only on a neighbourhood name.

Madinah Bus: airport, railway and mosque connections

Official Madinah network maps show route 400 between Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport and the Prophet’s Mosque. A 2026 Saudi Press Agency report describes it as operating around the clock. That does not mean a bus departs from every stop at every moment.

Check the current app or network map for your exact stop, direction and departure. Do not assume that an airport bus necessarily serves the Haramain station: identify the railway connection separately, as routes and maps can change.

General network operating hours are not a stop timetable. For an early flight or fixed train departure, plan a usable alternative instead of relying on the final theoretical bus.

Northwest BUS baggage

The operator’s published standard allowance, checked on 2 September 2026, is:

• One suitcase up to 25 kg free of charge.
• One hand bag up to 7 kg.
• Suitcase dimensions up to 50 × 90 × 40 cm.
• Oversized or additional baggage accepted at the operator’s discretion, subject to space and charges.

For orientation, 25 kg is about 55 lb and 7 kg about 15 lb; use the official metric limits when checking compliance. An international flight’s baggage allowance does not carry over to the coach.

Complete baggage checks before boarding and keep documents, medicines and valuables with you. Label luggage with a reachable international-format number and suitable destination details. These rules do not automatically apply to urban buses, a different operator, VIP service or Haramain trains.

How early should you arrive?

Northwest advises reaching the station or stop at least one hour before an intercity departure. Allow time to identify the bay, check documents and deal with baggage. The same one-hour rule is not a requirement for an ordinary urban bus.

For an onward flight or non-flexible train ticket, allow for road traffic, terminal changes and missed connections. Keep enough time and money to switch to an official taxi if needed; a cheap coach ticket is poor value if it causes a much more expensive missed journey.
