KAIA includes Terminal 1, North Terminal and the Hajj and Umrah complex. Your airline and operational arrangements affect where you arrive. Follow your actual flight information and airport signs, not a video showing another airline’s arrival.

The airport Haramain station is directly connected to Terminal 1. If you arrive elsewhere, ask staff about the permitted transfer and allow its time and cost before choosing a train. “Jeddah Airport” and the separate Jeddah city railway station are not interchangeable booking choices.

Immigration, baggage collection and reporting a missing suitcase can take time. If a bag is missing, report it to the relevant baggage service before leaving and keep the case reference, flight details and contact route.

Build a generous connection margin rather than treating landing time as station-arrival time. Secure your passport and bags before arranging connectivity. Use official airport Wi-Fi or an authorised mobile retailer, and check your Saudi local arrival date after any overnight journey.

Option A: Haramain train

Compare available departures through the official railway booking channel, ticket office or machine. Check the station name, baggage policy, boarding deadline and any assistance before payment. Arrive with enough time for checks; follow the instructions on your current ticket rather than treating a generic thirty-minute suggestion as a universal cutoff.

Makkah station is at Rusayfah, outside the Haram’s immediate surroundings. Reserve or budget for onward transport to your hotel.

The train can work well when you arrive at Terminal 1, travel within its baggage allowance and can choose a departure with a realistic margin. It is a station-to-station service, not a hotel transfer.

Option B: coach to Jarwal

The Northwest BUS timetable for 1 July–29 September 2026 lists NW28 between North Terminal, Terminal 1 and Makkah Bus Station (Jarwal). Recheck the service and exact boarding point for your date, especially after that timetable expires.

Do not read the route’s price incorrectly: the operator’s separate Jeddah–Makkah page headlines fares from SAR 33, but identifies Jeddah Train Station as its boarding point. That is not a verified airport-ticket price. Obtain a quote using the correct terminal and date.

Jarwal may suit some central hotels better than Rusayfah, but still requires a final journey. Check baggage rules and arrive early: Northwest advises at least one hour before an intercity departure.

Option C: an official taxi or ride-hailing service

KAIA lists taxis and several ride-hailing providers by terminal. Use the current signed pickup area and match the vehicle and registration to your booking. Do not assume an app listed at Terminal 1 collects from every other terminal.

Before boarding, confirm destination, quoted fare or meter arrangements, luggage capacity and legal drop-off point. Road controls near the Haram may prevent a car from reaching the entrance shown on a map.

For a family or small group, compare one suitable vehicle with all passengers’ train tickets and connecting transfers. Confirm wheelchair or child-restraint needs in advance; choosing a larger vehicle in an app does not by itself guarantee accessibility.

The final stage: station to hotel

Send reception your expected arrival time and ask for the entrance vehicles can reach. A large hotel may have a vehicle entrance different from its main map pin.

At Jarwal or Rusayfah, use identified services rather than accepting pressured informal offers. Show the Arabic address and frontage photograph. Check the hotel name before unloading all your bags, and retain the receipt and vehicle details until you have checked in.
